Carl Froch has quietly and patiently waited around since he devastatingly knocked George Groves out earlier this year. However, with the end of his career admittedly in sight, and a long wait before he's likely to step into the ring, are his options slowly diminishing? He has insisted he has no interest in a third straight bout with Groves, and that he'd retire before fighting fellow British boxer James DeGale. He has insisted he would love to fight Julio Cesar Chavez Jnr, and he's hinted he'd fight Gennady Golovkin. With time running out, just who will the super middleweight champion of the world decide to fight, or will he call it quits for good?

He and Groves fought in front of 80,000+ fans at Wembley Stadium, with Froch coming out on top yet again, this time with one of the best KO punches the champion has ever landed. Still, despite putting his career on the line, Groves wants a third fight. Could ring rust prove to be an issue? Groves has since fought twice, while Froch has gained weight and barely moved from his sofa.

It's looking like it's going to have to be a truly special fight to force Froch to work hard, getting himself back into title-defending shape. He insists neither DeGale or Groves would provide that, but evidently Golovkin or Chavez would. He's in a dangerous place arguably, with the two he'd like to fight requiring an immense amount of work and preparation to fight, while the two that want to face him do not challenge him enough.

Either way, Froch's legacy will be on the line, and with time running out he'd better pick soon, or his reputation will diminish without him ever stepping into a ring again.
