Manchester United are on a roll at the moment, winning games after a long, long period of struggling. They're hoping to add to that, gaining another 3 valuable points against Stoke City tonight. The Red Devils look to be without Angel Di Maria, but they're hoping they have enough left in the tank, adding to their UEFA Champions League qualification hopes, as well as their (albeit small) Premier League title chances. After their last victory, Van Gaal insisted "It was the best match of our season. What pleased me the most was the way we dominated the game from the first minute to the last minute. It was the first time we have done that. We created many chances, we did not give the ball away too much unnecessarily and we kept a clean sheet again. We knew in advance they would probably come with five defenders."
Van Gaal will not want to lose this momentum, especially when it comes to star forward Robin Van Persie, who showed a rapid improvement in their last game. Van Gaal hit out at his fellow countryman, but the Dutch forward scored and had an assist. He explained "Scoring a goal like that gives you confidence - I needed it to be honest." Now Van Persie and United will be hoping for one thing from here on, and that's consistency.
