Selena Gomez, the Jonas Brothers, Jimmy Eat World, and Drake Bell all share the same record producer - but unfortunately for the Bell, that same producer (John Fields) is the man currently suing the Nickelodeon star for a grand total of $36,000.
According to TMZ, Fields recently filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court, claiming that 26-year-old Bell didn't reimburse him for producing a number of tracks off of the acoustic crooner's latest album, "A Reminder" (released in June 2011).
Fields claims that Bell agreed to pay him $4,000 per song for his latest album, with a grand total production of nine songs. But Fields insists Bell only paid him for five songs, so the music producer is currently suing for the remaining four tracks (which is where the amount of $36,000 comes from).
Maybe some Bell fans find themselves confused here, considering only four tracks made it on to the "A Reminder" EP - Bell decided to release the tracks as an "extended play" edition because he insisted a full album wouldn't be in the works until at least a year. The "Drake and Josh" star is currently working on his third full-length studio album with Surfdog Records.
Either way, Fields supposedly produced a total of nine songs for Bell and got gypped out of pay for four. Looks like Fields doesn't experience such trouble from the Disney side of things... hopefully things get squared-away with the Nickelodeon star soon so he can focus on releasing new tunes for his fans.
