CNN News reporter Anderson Cooper missed his show on Monday, December 1 due to an emergency appendectomy surgery he underwent Sunday night, November 30.

The "silver fox" sure does bounce back quick, as he assured fans via twitter that he would be back in action reporting the news tonight Tuesday, December 2.

"I'll be back on air tomorrow. Had an appendicitis and had to have sudden surgery last night," Cooper wrote on Twitter.

A rep told Page Six that the news reporter thought he had food poisoning when he started to feel sick last week during his coverage of the Ferguson protests in Missouri, however when he returned to New York on Sunday his doctor told him that was not the case.

"He went from the airport to the doctor's office and, after a quick exam, his doctor told Anderson that he needed to go to the ER right away," the rep said.

Cooper was rushed to New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and thanked doctors and nurses of their help. "I am very thankful for the efforts of my doctors and the doctors and nurses at New york Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center," he told Page Six.

Appendicitis is an inflammation of the appendix and is one of the most common causes of acute pain symptoms in the abdomen. Though it is common, it is seen as an emergency and must be removed immediately.
