Are you ready to get your Christmas on? We sure are, and tonight marks the official start of the holiday season. The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is about to get lit as some pretty special A-List guests make their way to the New York City historic spot to see the 85-foot arbor become a ray of light. Among that guests set to attend include Lady Gaga, Idina Menzel, Pentatonix, Trisha Yearwood, Darius Rucker, LeAnn Rimes, and many more.

While many of you may say that the beginning of the Holiday season is always marked by ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas, since we were little the NBC broadcast from Rockefeller Center was what always put us in the spirits.

According to a press release obtained by Zap2it, this year will mark the 82nd annual lighting of the Xmas tree, and the holiday celebration will include a 85-foot Norwegian Spruce tree from Pennsylvania that is roughly 90 years old, and according to CBS News that tree will be emblazoned with 45,000 LED lights wrapped around it.

Among the list of star-studded performers and presenters, Mariah Carey was also set to commemorate the 20th anniversary of her Christmas album with a rendition of her chart-topping hit and holiday classic, "All I Want For Christmas Is You." However, TMZ is reporting that when the diva arrived three hours late to her scheduled segment taping, the network told her and her team to just go home.

The site also reveals that Carey was really disappointed because she wants to perform but she had to take a call regarding her divorce proceedings and missed the taping.

People are expected to come out in droves for the lighting, as it has been reported that 10,000 people will be there. Lucky for us we can just turn on the TV and get a front row seat to take in the action.

The ceremony will be broadcasted live on NBC starting at 7 p.m. It will also be available to stream through NBC.com as well as Stream2watch.com.
