'The Americans' Season 3 Spoilers: Will Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys Beat "Polygraph?" [WATCH]

With The Americans scheduled to return in January for Season 3, FX has released a new teaser trailer for the popular espionage drama. As the truth clashes with their lies and secrets, will Elizabeth (Keri Russell) and Philip Jennings (Matthew Rhys) be able to beat the "Polygraph" test?

As we previously mentioned, in a Washington, D.C. suburban neighborhood, during the '80s, two KGB spies Elizabeth (Russell) and Philip (Rhys) pose as an American married couple. With their children kept in the dark, the Jennings have to keep their innocent kids away from their neighbor. Right across from them is Stan Beeman (Noah Emmerich), an dogged FBI agent who is just one step away from blowing their cover.

We reported before that FX Networks launched two teasers on their official YouTube account. Both short videos feature juxtaposing imagery of the two opposing flags coming together. In the recent trailer, both flags are consumed in ice, as if to say "Until Hell freezes over."

Now we see the actual stars in the latest trailer. Elizabeth (Russell) and Jennings (Rhys) have their arms hooked to the polygraph machine. Notice how the needle stay put when these two answer the following questions, "Are you committed to your country?" and "Would you sacrifice everything for it?"

But when these spies are asked about their children, the needle goes haywire? Will this be the theme of the third season?  At the end, the polygraph test forms the pattern of a hamer and sickle. The caption states, "This January, the truth is relative. See if The Americans make the ultimate sacrifice."

We previously mentioned actress Karen Pittman has been cast Lisa, a a struggling mother and a recovering alcoholic. Lisa works at the assembly line of a highly classified Defense Department project. During an Alcoholic Anonymous meeting, Elizabeth befriends Lisa, just so that she can gain access to the classified project.

We also mentioned Frank Langella will play the role of Gabriel,a former KGB handler who comes out of retirement. Back in the business, Gabriel is now responsible for overseeing his two KGB operatives aa he takes over from their previous handler, Claudia (Margo Martindale).

Season 3 of The Americans premieres January 28 at 10pm on FX. Readers, are you excited to see this new season?
