Aaron Sorkin's political drama,The Newsroom, is two episodes away from finishing season 3 on HBO. While incarcerated behind bars, will news anchorman Will McAvoy (Jeff Daniels) be able to save Charlie Skinner (Sam Waterston) from disaster in 'Oh Shenandoah?'

Charlie looks exhausted and depressed as he continues to do everything the new ACN owner, Lucas Pruitt, wants. Though the ratings are up and ACN is back on top, Charlie has given up the good fight and concedes to Pruitt's demands. After losing a battle with Charlie, MacKenzie McHale (Emily Mortimer) discovers Neal's informant has passed away.

Will has spent close to 11 months in prison, arguing back and forth with his cell mate. Even though the informant is dead, Will refuses to give up her name. Will continues to argue with his cell mate while the lawyers put into motion his release.

Sloan (Olivia Munn) is getting frustrated with Neal's replacements, who are ruining everything he has created with their app. Sloan thinks the company's app is great for stalkers and wants to prove it on television. Like a fool, Neal's replacement accepts Sloan's invitation to go on camera and promote the app.

Though he knows it's a bad idea, Don (Thomas Sadoski) has to put an interview together putting the rape victim side-by-side with her rapist. If Don doesn't do the interview, Charlie will follow Pruitt's orders and have him fired. With a little detective work, Don meets the female college student in her dorm room.

Don and the college student have an intense debate about ethics, justice, and revenge. If she goes on camera, Don expects nothing but the worse for her, but the student argues this will be justice she never had. At the end of their conversation, Don is still reluctant to put her on camera next to the man who raped her, even though he has her permission.

Jim (John Gallagher Jr.) and Maggie (Allison Pill) are trying to get a ticket but every member of the press wants to get on the plane where Eric Snowden will be taken. Even though she has feelings for him, Maggie wants Jim to patch things up with Hallie. Jim has to give his watch, money, and his clothes in order to get the plane ticket.

While inside the plane, Jim realizes it's not the one Snowden will be on. During the long flight, Jim admits to Maggie he didn't get back with Hallie because he likes him. Though it takes time for her to admit it, Maggie says she likes him too and kisses Jim.

Sloan has an interview with the creator of the company's stalking app. The app has been making false and demanding accusations aboutcelebrities. After hounding him with questions, Neal's replacement looks like an idiot on camera.

After the public humiliation, Lucas Pruitt (B.J. Novak) and Charlie are yelling at the top of their lungs at Mac and Sloan. Don adds to the anger and frustration when he says he won't do the interview. Just as he is about to leave, Charlie faints, hits his head, and suffers a heart attack.

Packing his things up, Will looks at the pictures of his father, his imaginary cell mate, on the wall. Will needed someone to talk to in solitary confinement, so he imagined his father. On the outside, Will discovers from Mac that Charlie passed away.
