With The Flash gaining speed from its mind-season finale on the CW network, the TV show is getting ready with a new cast member after its winter break. Stars Wars: The Force Awakens very own Mark Hamill is joining Grant Gustin (Barry Allen) and reuniting with John Wesley Shipp on the superhero drama as the DC Comics super villain, The Trickster.

In our first recap, Barry (Gustin) was just a little boy when he witnessed the death of his mother. Though Henry Allen (Shipp) was framed for his wife's murder, Barry become a cop to find the man who actually committed the crime. Struck by lightning, Barry is thrown into a vat of chemicals, which gave him super-speed superpowers.

Hitflix has announced that the Batman Animated series voice actor will reprise his role as as James Jesse, aka the Trickster. As we previously mentioned, Shipp was the original scarlet speedster back in the '90s. Hamill played the super villain twice and lost both times to the Flash.

In the 14th episode, which is set for the new year, the plot synopsis states, "In this new iteration, The Trickster is an anarchist terrorist, con man serving a life sentence in Iron Heights, who helps Barry (Gustin) and Det. West (Jesse L. Martin) to foil the city-wide attacks of a wannabe Trickster eagerly following in the original's deadly footsteps. The episode will reunite him with John Wesley Shipp who went up against him as the original 'Flash' on the CBS version."

Amanda Pays, who originally played Dr. Tina McGee, also reprised her role in the latest incarnation. In the mid-season finale, Tina was an enemy to Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) and appeared to be blocking Barry's investigation in to break-in at her lab.
