Just like the Batman prequel, Gotham, on Fox, Syfy is looking at the early beginnings of Superman. Known for the The Dark Knight trilogy, David S. Goyer takes a look at the Man of Steel's home planet, Krypton.

In the DC Comics Universe, Clark Kent originally came from the alien planet known as Krypton. While many incarnations portray the super villain, Brainiac, as the main reason for the planet's self-destruction, Clark doesn't really know much of where he comes from. The one-hour drama will take a look at a chapter that has rarely been told.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the sci-fi series takes place years before Superman's origins. When the House of El is shamed and ostracized, the Man of Steel's grandfather attempts to bring hope and equality to his people. He doesn't realize his efforts will give birth to the greatest superhero ever known.

Known for his works on Once Upon a Time and FlashForward, writer Ian Goldberg will pen the script and executive produce alongside Goyer. Goldberg and Goyer have both conceived the story.

As we mentioned, this fourth season of Once Upon a Time brought Cruella De Vil, Maleficent, and other Disney baddies have been coming into the forefront. Check out our latest recap if you haven't seen the latest episode.

Check out this featurette about Krypton in the Man of Steel flick:

As we previously mentioned, Gotham features members of the Batman rogue gallery, such as Penguin (Robin Taylor) and Selina Kyle/Catwoman (Camren Bicondova), without actually showing the Dark Knight himself. Though Gotham is a superhero drama, it is also a police procedural that follows detectives Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) and Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) as they attempt to solve the unsolved Wayne murders.

Syfy is making a Superman prequel titled, Krypton. Readers, would you be interested in seeing a TV show about the Man of Steel's home planet?
