Emily Blunt has a lot to smile about. The actress is starring in one of the most anticipated films of the year that also hits theaters this Christmas: Into The Woods.

While out in New York City at the Monday night premiere of her new musical, Blunt shared details on how motherhood was going.

MStars News previously reported that Blunt was expecting a baby girl with her husband, actor John Krasinski, and now they have a 10-month-old baby girl named Hazel.

As a parent, Blunt reveals that it is indeed what people say, and more. "It is that and more," Blunt shared with PEOPLE, "I know that everybody say that. Everybody says, 'Oh it's the best - it's the best thing ever!' "

Hazel was born in February of this year as Blunt still gets used to being a new mother.

"You don't know what to expect because it's just completely, existentially out of anything that you've ever experienced before, and it's quite indescribable" Blunt states.

The 31-year-old says being a mother is pretty much like "heaven."

Besides being a little nervous about parenting, Blunt revealed that she was quite nervous when singing in the new film, Into The Woods.

"I was really, really nervous - reluctant, even, to the point of not wanting to audition for it," Blunt recalls.

The actress almost turned down the audition, but with the help of director Rob Marshall she says it has been a great experience reuniting with her former costar, Meryl Streep.

"To work with Meryl [Streep] again: It was an alluring idea." The two women worked together in the hit flim, The Devil Wears Prada.

Blunt adds working together "was great! Not really a different dynamic; she's torturing me yet again. I feel like I'm just forever destined to grovel at her feet on camera, ya know. It's fine by me!"
