With Guardians of the Galaxy now on DVD and Blu-Ray, now is the perfect opportunity to see check up on the sci-fi blockbuster flick. Based on the popular Marvel Comics title, director James Gunn's brought to the big screen Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace), and Nebula (Karen Gillan).
As we previously mentioned, a group of wanted space criminals, led by Star-Lord (Pratt), suddenly end up at the same intergalactic prison. After working on their own for so long, they must now work together to stop the maniacal super villain, Ronan the Accuser (Pace). With an all-powerful gem at his disposal, this ragtag team must stop him from destroying the galaxy.
Here are 5 reasons why you should get the Guardians of the Galaxy DVD/Blu-Ray here:
5) Groot and Rocket
Though they are never seen, audiences could recognize the talented voices of Bradley Cooper (Rocket) and Vin Diesel (Groot). Thanks to top-notch special effects, Gunn somehow made the fantastical, a talking tree and foul-mouthed raccoon, seem grounded in reality.
4) The Soundtrack
The Sither director wasn't aiming to make the next Star Wars movie; he was trying to remake The Last Starfighter. Star-Lord's walkman and headphones are the only things that keep him connected to Earth. Keeping with the '80s motifs, the soundtrack consists of The Runaways, David Bowie, and Blue Swede.
3) Nebula vs Gamora
Who would have thought the previous Doctor Who companion would end up in a summer blockbuster? Sure her show got canceled, but Selfie proved the red-headed Oculus actress can hold her own in a leading role. Definitely worth seeing again, we don't want to miss the climatic fight between Nebula and Gamora (Saldana).
2) Teamwork
As we previously mentioned, the theme about the Guardians comics is that this unlikely group knows how to work together. When the odds are stacked against them, somehow this team can make things work, especially if their plan is made upon the spot.
Who didn't find this scene of a Dancing Groot endearing? Marvel knew this was going to be the must-have toy once viewers saw this end credit scene.
