ESPN and ABC News sports business reporter Darren Rovell is known as one of the most robotically prolific tweeters online. On Twitter he reports everything from classic NBA photos to giant Hungarian sausage details. One genius, somewhere, came up with the brilliant idea of using Rovell's tweets as Tinder icebreakers. And thanks to Deadspin, we can see that some of them actually worked.

The man behind the Hitch-like strategy is named Rob Perez, and he recently explained to Vice Sports the inspiration behind his grand Rovell experiment. Here's an excerpt from that interview:

"Well, I've always been a Rovell follower on Twitter, and like everyone else, just generally annoyed by some of the things he does and ways he goes about them. So, the day he called out the Notre Dame Football player for hooking up with the porn star Lisa Ann, I wrote a blog post about him. The next day, I didn't see him much on my timeline and came to the realization that he blocked me. So, I gave him an ultimatum: please explain why you blocked me in a written letter, or feel the wrath of Tinder."

Perez has spent the time since showing Rovell -- and, by extension, hords of strange women -- that wrath. His Tinder picture is that of a young, nerdy-looking Rovell, courtesy of a self-deprecating tweet from the man himself. He sees it as his own little form of revenge for all the annoyance Rovell has brought him. Rovell has tweeted more than 81,000 times.

"A little unconventional, but, quite enjoyable," Perez told Vice Sports.

It's enjoyable for all of us, Mr. Perez. Don't ever change.

Side note: Other Twitter accounts we think would be great for this kind of thing include Peter Gammons, Shaquille O'Neal and Donald Trump.
