Ray Allen is the all-time leader in three-pointers with 2,973 made over his 18-year career. No one argues that. The question of the hour is this -- "Is the 3-Point King and Future Hall of Famer Come Back to the NBA This Season?"

Almost two months into the NBA season, the answer to the question is still "maybe." While the 10x All-Star's crop of potential suitors is growing, ESPN is reporting that the Golden State Warriors have interest in signing the two-time NBA champion.

However, the marksman has put off signing with a team this season without fully retiring. ESPN's Brian Windhorst detailed the situation:

"One, he has four sons and I don't think he wants to spend an entire extended season away from them," Windhorst said. "His family lives in Miami. That may also be a factor as to where he signs. He could want to stay close to home."

The Warriors, Cavaliers, Bulls, Spurs, Wizards and Clippers have targeted Allen, according to ESPN. The process has been ongoing, with Allen taking his time to mull a decision.

"These teams have been checking in with Ray Allen for months now, interested in signing him when he decides if he wants to play," Windhorst said. "Ray's answer to every team, since July has been consistent: "I'm going to wait and a take my time and make a decision later."

Demand for Allen's specialties behind the 3-point line stems from a slew of contenders lacking adequate options at shooting guard.

"If Ray signed with the Cavaliers, he would start for them tonight," Windhorst reported.

Cleveland.com reports that the Cavaliers are still the favorite to land Allen, but that he doesn't plan to deciding until Februrary.

Allen and current Cavaliers star, Lebron James, won two NBA Championships with the Miami Heat, in 2012 and 2013.
