Known to viewers for her role as the tragic Tara Knowles, the former Sons of Anarchy actress has landed her next acting gig. Maggie Siff has joined the cast of Showtime's upcoming drama pilot, alongside Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis, entitled Billions.

Entertainment Weekly reports the upcoming drama will feature Giamatti and Lewis as major financial world operatives. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 actor will play a hard-charging U.S. Attorney and the Homeland actor plays a ambitious hedge fund king.

The Life on Mars actress joins the cast as Wendy Rhoades, the wife of Giamatti's character. After graduating at the top of her medical school class, Wendy then trained herself to be a psychiatrist. Highly in demand, the performance coach works with some of the most powerful and influential figures in the cutthroat world of high finance.

The Limitless director, Neil Burger, has signed on to helm the pilot. Brian Koppelman, David Levien, and Andrew Ross Sorkin will serve as writers and executive producers on the show.

The last time audiences saw Tara was when she was brutally murdered by Gemma Teller (Katey Sagal). As we previously mentioned, viewers wanted to see Tara (Siff) back on the show for its final season. Though she wasn't seen, her death was felt by everyone, including Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam).

The search for Tara's killer culminated in a deadly standoff between mother and son. Gemma said she was ready to die, willing to pay for the consequences, before Jax pulled the trigger. In our series finale recap, Jax paid tribute to the love of his life and visited her gravesite.

Check out this fan-favorite moment between Tara and Jax:

The pilot for Showtime's Billions will be filmed in New York in early 2015. Readers, are you excited to see Maggie Siff in her new series?
