The series finale for Aaron Sorkin's The Newsroom has finally arrived on HBO. In the final episode of season 3, viewers will say goodbye to Will MacAvoy (Jeff Daniels), Olivia Munn (Sloan Sabbith), and MacKenzie McHale (Emily Mortimer) as they deliver the last breaking news.

As we previously mentioned, the sixth season opened with Will MacAvoy (Daniels) and MacKenzie McHale (Mortimer) planning their wedding. Little did they know, a catastrophe within their news team would put a damper on their arrangements. ACN had to deal with a hostile takeover while poor Neal Sampat (Dev Patel) ended up with classified files from the government.

In our previous recap, the ACN news team lost a important member of the team. Charlie Skinner (Sam Waterson) died of a heart attack after trying to save Sloan (Munn) and Mac (Mortimer)'s job. After being incarcerated for not revealing his source, Will was finally released from prison but discovered his heartbroken wife in tears.

Here are our 5 reasons why we'll miss The Newsroom:

5) The Character Growth

Don (Thomas Sadoski) started out as a jerk to Will and a horrible boyfriend to Maggie. As each season progressed, audiences got to see a different side of Don and Sadoski's acting, especially in Oh Shenandoah. It feels like there's more story to tell with Don, especially Reese Lansing (Chris Messina), who really didn't want to be the bad guy.

4) Jane Fonda

A special nod goes out to the Barbarella actress who stole the show as Leona Lansing, the CEO of Atlantic World Media. In an unforgettable role, Fonda delivers Sorkin's lines with such remarkable force. Where is her Emmy nomination?

3) No More Charlie

It was definitely tough to see Charlie (Waterston) compromise his integrity to a billionaire Lucas Pruitt, (B.J. Novak). You mean to tell me Sorkin had the guts to kill off his character and Dick Wolf kept Jack McCoy (also by Waterston) going on Law & Order?

2) Will They or Won't They?

Sorkin closed up the storyline between Maggie (Alison Pill) and Jim (John Gallagher Jr.). Jim revealed how he truly felt towards Maggie. After two seasons and a breakup with Hallie, Jim and Maggie finally kissed.

1) No More Monologues

The pilot featured a stirring speech by Will when he was asked, "What makes America so great?" Daniels was undeniably captivated as he shouted his satirical tirade. This is Sorkin at his best.

The series finale of The Newsroom airs December 14, Sundays on HBO at 9pm. Readers, what will you miss about the show?
