At first there was speculation on there or not he would be playing the title character. Then the announcement came when the WWE superstar wrestler confirmed he was playing the DCU's big time baddie, Black Adam.

In the mythology, Captain Marvel is the alter ego of Billy Batson, a young boy who can transform himself into a costumed superhero. His magical powers derive from Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, and Mercury.
