The Christmas Day release of Seth Rogen and James Franco's new controversial comedy "The Interview" was just cancelled by Sony amid a threatening hacker scandal. Several fans and celebrities were shocked that "terrorists" managed a huge victory as the big-name entertainment cooperation released this official statement:

"In light of the decision by the majority of our exhibitors not to show the film 'The Interview,' we have decided not to move forward with the planned December 25 theatrical release. We respect and understand our partners' decision and, of course, completely share their paramount interest in the safety of employees and theater-goers... Sony Pictures has been the victim of an unprecedented criminal assault against our employees, our customers, and our business. Those who attacked us stole our intellectual property, private emails, and sensitive and proprietary material, and sought to destroy our spirit and our morale - all apparently to thwart the release of a movie they did not like. We are deeply saddened at this brazen effort to suppress the distribution of a movie, and in the process do damage to our company, our employees, and the American public. We stand by our filmmakers and their right to free expression and are extremely disappointed by this outcome."

Now, viewers will just have to witness rapper Eminem's "coming out" on digital small-screen.

Wait... what!?

Other than attempting to assassinate North Korea dictator Kim Jong-un, the "Pineapple Express" buddies managed to snag some awesome cameo appearances in the flick. Franco plays celebrity interviewer Dave Skylark. who at one point talks with Rob Lowe and gets the handsome actor to admit that he's actually bold.

But apparently Slim Shady's part steals the show.

During his interview, the "Rap God" is questioned about his hard-hitting, sometimes homophobic lyrics. The infamous Detroit emcee simply answers, "That's because I'm gay. I like men. I can't believe people didn't pick up on that."

According to ShowBizz411.com, the MMLP2 superstar does this with a complete straight and serious face. He's actually a pretty funny and witty guy, so readers can only imagine how cool it probably was to film that specific scene...

So now, Em's not gay. Just a joke.

Hopefully fans get get to witness such comedy gold at some point. At least let this rather innocent scene leak on YouTube or something!

Meanwhile, J. Cole's new "diss track" entitled "Fire Squad" (and aimed at the Shady XV hypeman) continues going viral online...
