Mark Cuban finalized the Rajon Rondo trade between his Dallas Mavericks and the Boston Celtics on his phone while backstage at The Colbert Report's finale - with Sesame Street's Big Bird looking on! That's according to ESPN host Keith Olbermann who reported billionaire entrepreneur and Shark Tank host Cuban okaying the biggest NBA trade of the year while sitting in Colbert's green room with The Newsroom's Sam Waterson and Jeff Daniels as well as Ken Burns and a dismayed UN Ambassador Sam Powers! They were part of a huge group of celebrities farewelling Colbert singing "We'll Meet Again" (led by Randy Newman on paino) as he leaves Comedy Central for CBS to take over from David Letterman on The Late Show.

Olbermann — host of ESPN 2's late night sports show Olbermann — tweeted out that "MCuban(blue) finalized Rondo deal in green room, sitting w/Waterston, Daniels, Burns, me."

And: "MarkCuban finalized Rondo deal in green room, sitting w/Waterston, Daniels, me + dismaying UN Amb. Samantha Power."

Considering Big Bird was also a part of Olbermann and Cuban's 'group' to farewell The Colbert Report host, it could easily be assumed that the colossal avian was looking on while Cuban shipped Brandan Wright, Jaw Crowder, Jameer Nelson and both a first and second-round draft pick out of Texas.

As for the trade itself, Grantland's Zach Lowe pointed out today that for Cuban's Mavericks, "The cost is significant," and explained that "the deal is riskier for the Mavs than for the Celtics." The good news, though, says Lowe, is that "We know Rondo has an extra gear when he gives a crap." Tweeted Rondo:

Cuban also thanked his former players, saying:

Colbert, for his part, went out with a particularly hilarious bang, saying "If this is your first episode tuning into The Colbert Report, I have some terrible news."

"This is your last time watching the Colbert Report ... until 10 years from now when they reboot it, directed by J.J. Abrams."
