Ellen DeGeneres just loves messing with her fans! And this time, "The King of Queens" starlet Leah Remini got a piece of the action, too!

On a recent holiday episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," the beloved television host tried prank calling Remini's hubby, Angelo Pagan. But thinks took a really bizarre (and rather awkward) turn...

A mystery woman answers the phone, and it's clear that she's there spending some "romantic" time with Pagan behind Remini's back. The audience falls silent as Remini confronts the girl via telephone:

DeGeneres tries to appease the situation, but the former "Saved By The Bell" sweetheart isn't having it.

So... did Remini just catch her husband having an affair... on national TV!

Of course not. Come on now, the entire thing was a set-up.

Viewers can tell that both Remini and DeGeneres are likely acting... the 44-year-old actress dealt with the situation way too smoothly for it to have been legit.

But still, divorce rumors quickly erupted online following the holiday hoax. So eventually Remini tweeted about what REALLY happened on December 17:

@LeahRemini: "Regarding the Ellen show today; it was just a joke to throw the audience off to surprise them with the gifts! Me and @apangelo are good!"

She later re-posted this Instagram message:

Good one!

DeGeneres is currently in the middle of her epic #12DaysOfGiveways in honor of the Christmas season. She didn't mention anything on Twitter, but did manage to spread some X-Mas cheer with Conan O'Brien:

@TheEllenShow: "I got calls from Conan's audience saying he had 'no gifts' and they felt 'sad and unloved,' so I set things right."

Still, the 56-year-old comedienne is probably amused - she experiences fake cheating scandals surrounding her longtime relationship with wife Portia de Rossi all of the time.

Did any MstarsNews readers fall for the "caught in the bedroom act" prank?

Well, happy holidays!
