Honey Boo Boo Child's fourth episode of her hit reality show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo premiered on Wednesday night (August 29) and it looks like American rather watch her goof around that watch the Republican National Convention and Mitt Romney's speech. Neilson overnight ratings report shows that Honey Boo Boo had almost 3 million people tuned in to her program eating out the RNC, according to Hollywood Reporter.
Before the TLC reality series premiered, many people had doubts about whether the show would be too silly to watch, since it revolves around the life of a young child who puts on tan spray and makeup for toddler pageants. Spray tan and makeup is not very normal for an American child, and even greatly criticized.
However, to the surprise of critics and doubters, the show has been garnering greater interest week by week. The viewership increased from 2.3 million viewers in the third episode to nearly 3 million watching the fourth episode this past week.
Honey Boo Boo, whose real name is Alana Thompson, at heart is just another American redneck child whose charming and not afraid to live life to the fullest.
Thompson's mother June Shannan shared with Ryan Seacrest, "A lot of our fan base tell us that when they have a bad day they can be able to watch our show and be able to get a good laugh. I actually laugh at the show too, because it is kind of funny, because we know that it was fun filming it. And it's just all about having fun and making memories. A lot of people say that they can relate to us."
This past week's episode saw the Southern family enjoying a day out at the watermark. Even mother Shannon was caught sliding down the water slide.
Something worth noting is that more people are watching RNC on cable networks instead of the TV networks that were included in the Neilson ratings. Live streaming is also available online.
Aside from that, it was fun to see that even Honey Boo Boo had the charm to nearly 3 million Americans to listen to her life speech. Should she be nominated for president?
