In the midst of its winter break, plans are already underway for Constantine to be shifted around the NBC schedule. Based on the popular DC Comics horror title, will John Constantine (Matt Ryan) survive in his new January time slot when the show returns?

Based on the Hellblazer title from Vertigo Comics, Constantine (Ryan) is an occult detective, charismatic ladies man, and con artist all put together. Though he wants to do some good, the troubled anti-hero walks a fine line between dark magic and obsession. In his trademark fashion, Constantine steps out into the world wearing a white dress shirt, a faded trench coat, and lights up a cigarette whenever the dark forces approach.

In the first part of The Saint of Last Resorts, the episode ended on a cliff-hanger, with John getting shot by a ex-lover, who happens to be a nun. Lying in the sewers, John bleeds from his bullet wound, hoping the flesh-eating demon won't find him.

According to Uproxx, the horror/superhero drama had its best episode yet.The ratings had a 25% boot in increase for the fall finale. Now that NBC knows there is a loyal viewership, the network is attempting to build the momentum.

Announced on the Constantine Twitter account, the caption states that when the show returns January 16, "#Constantine is moving to 8/7c after the hiatus!"

As we mentioned before, viewers have been coming across characters from the DC Universe, Michael James Shaw showed up twice as Papa Midnite and we caught a glimpse of Detective Jim Corrigan, also known as The Spectre in one of the episodes as well.

Though NBC has put a halt to more episodes, there is a slight chance for a second season depending on how well viewership does when the show retruns. Here are 5 reasons why viewers should save John Constantine.

Constantine airs now Fridays at 8pm on NBC. Readers, would you excited to see the second part of The Saint of Last Resorts?
