We know that you Whovians out there can't wait for this week's episode of Doctor Who, the 2014 Christmas Special entitled "Last Christmas," but we've compiled a list of 5 reasons why you definitely shouldn't miss it! There are the more obvious reasons like this being your favorite show or the fact that it effortlessly mixes sci-fi, fantasy, drama and humor all into one series - but we think we have some more important reasons to tune in that we want to share with you. (SPOILERS to follow)

Check out more TV news here!

1. "Last Christmas" takes place in the North Pole!

What an amazing setting for the Christmas special! It is honestly an ideal location for the holiday for obvious reasons, but it's also a very dangerous place to be. Temperatures drop way below freezing, so we can assume the cold will come into play this episode. And, of course, the North Pole also brings us to our next top reason to watch this episode ...

2. It's got Nick Frost as Santa!

Santa Claus is a pretty great character to include in Doctor Who, but having comedic actor Nick Frost portray the jolly holiday figure has got to be the most amazing icing on the best cake ever! We can't wait to see his humor shine through in the Dec. 25 episode.

3. The episode's monsters look very creepy and scary!

We obviously know that the Doctor will have his friends along for and adventure, but who/what will they all go up against? Will this year's special feature the creepiest enemies we've seen so far or will they fall short? According to the brief glimpse we got of them in the episode preview, we're in for some creepiness at least!

Take a look right here:

From what we can tell, these creatures are a mix between the monster in your closet and the one under your bed. They look terrifying, so we hope that Santa can really help out the Doctor in this special.

What kind of foe do you think we're up against in this special?

4. How will Peter Capaldi perform in the beloved Doctor Who Christmas special?

This is Capaldi's first year as the Doctor, and the Christmas special has always been important for the fans. David Tennant and Matt Smith's careers as the Doctor were basically made with these specials, and last year's won't be easy to top! We said good-bye to Eleven and hello to Twelve, so what kind of adventure could follow that kind of a heavy story?

Do you think Capaldi's first Christmas special will be one to remember?

5. We could be saying good-bye to Clara Oswald (and Jenna Coleman)!

We've been talking about it for months now, but this week we will get our answer. Will Clara live or die in the Christmas special? Speculation around Coleman's character has been running wild since rumors spread, saying the actress wanted to leave the series. We have yet to have a confirmation on that because Steve Moffat and his company are very secretive when it comes to this show. Plus, the cast and crew have been very sly about not revealing too much about Clara's future.

"I don't know yet. I don't know. To be honest, it's hard when you're in the middle of it... we've still got the Christmas episode to come out," Coleman said earlier this year. Read more here.

We also want to mention that "Last Christmas" is a bit of an ominous title, don't you think?
