Kobe Bryant and the Los Angles Lakers will battle Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls on the court on Christmas Day for in Week 8 of the 2014 regular season on Thursday December 25 at 8 p.m. EST at the United Center in Chicago. It's a match up for the ages between Bryant and Rose, with Pau Gasol also in line to play against the team he won two NBA championships with for the first time. After a torrid first third of the NBA regular season, the Lakers appear to have discovered a breath of life, beating the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night... but Kobe and co. still find themselves mired at 9-19 and the sixth worst record in the NBA. 

CBS Sports' Matt Moore has the Lakers ranked 26th out of 30 in his CBS NBA power rankings, and believes that a lot of the hopes of the Lakers rest with Nick 'SWaggy P' Young. Writes Moore: 

"Nick Young says Kobe Bryant needs to let him handle more of the load late in games on key shots. Nick Young is 8 for 36 all-time in the final two minutes of the fourth or overtime to tie or take the lead, according to Basketball-Reference. The true meaning of Swaggy."

As for the Bulls, they're sitting at the No. 6 spot of Moore's rankings with their impressive record of 19 wins and 9 losses. Moore says that what the Bulls are doing is impressive:

"Everyone was impressed with the win at Memphis without Rose or Gibson. But those are the games they win! They always play well in the no-one-believes-in-us games. It's only when you should believe in them that they tend to fall on their face. That said, the offense is rolling, which I was skeptical of going into the season."
