Are Victoria's Secret, Walmart & Other Retailers Reselling Used, Returned Underwear? [RUMORS] Return Policy Is Allegedly Pretty Lax

If you're doing some last minute 2014 Christmas shopping, we have a pretty good tip for you: avoid buying any kind of discounted underwear from Walmart, Marshall's and Victoria's Secret. Why, you ask? Well, a new report from TODAY is alleging that used and/or returned under garments brought back to these stores are put back on sale shortly after! The companies have denied this report, but we think you should still play it safe.

Reporter Jeff Rossen tried to return some underwear to retailers, succeeded, and then found out that the product he just dropped off was soon put up on sale.

So what do the retailers have to say about this report?

"Our top priority is our customers' satisfaction and safety. The actions you describe are a clear and significant violation of our policy," a Victoria's Secret spokesperson explained. "We take this situation very seriously and are taking immediate action to re-educate all of our associates on the proper way to handle returns."

As you can imagine, Walmart's spokesperson responded with a similar statement.

"We have a clear and consistent policy regarding these items that has been repeatedly reinforced, but clearly there was a violation of our policy and a major mistake was made," the company said. "This situation is absolutely unacceptable and if our customers have any concern about undergarments or any other product purchased from Walmart, they should come see us for a refund."

Marshall's also had a similar response. Though these statements are promising, the TODAY report is still chilling to think about. Our advice is to make sure you wash these products after purchasing them, and also wear underwear while trying on bathing suits.
