With 2014 winding down, we can't wait to look forward to 2015, especially when it comes to new movies hitting theaters in the new year. Though we had a wild ride with this year's releases, including The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, Godzilla, X-Men: Days of Future Past and more, we are way too excited for what's to come next year. We already know that 2015 will hold the biggest film event in a very long time (Episode VII, duh) but what else is in store for fans of action, drama, superheroes and every other movie genre? Let's take a look below!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

There's no denying the fact that J.J. Abrams' 2015 blockbuster is the most hyped film of 2015, and probably the last 10 years. Lucasfilm merged with Disney at the end of 2013, which was quickly followed by the announcement of the film. We know that Episode VII will be followed by VIII and IX, too, so that adds to the anticipation as well. We were treated to a teaser trailer for The Force Awakens last month, teasing a new Sith, a new Lightsaber, and a classic feel. It's easy to say that this is the most anticipated film of the year. (Dec. 18)

The Avengers: Age of Ultron

Marvel's most popular group of superheroes return to take on the menacing Ultron, a Stark invention gone wrong. Voiced by a creepy James Spader, this robotic villain is set on tearing apart the super-group, and from the looks of the first trailer for the Joss Whedon film, he might even succeed. (May 1)

Jurassic World

We return to the world of Jurassic Park with a new storyline and technological advances that will surely keep these dinosaurs behind their cages, right? Obviously, we're wrong on that account. Not only will we dive back into the action of blood-thirty animals hunting humans when all goes awry, there's a hybrid dino running around, too! (June 12)

Terminator: Genisys

Say what you will about the weird name of the fifth Terminator film, the first trailer made us all believers in this project. Not exactly a remake or a reboot, we get to see how time-travel can make us forget that Terminator: Salvation ever happened! Oh, and Arnold is back - he said he would be! (July 1)

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2

Though you might not be too happy about the final book in the Hunger Games series being split into two films, our last adventure with Katniss comes this year - and it is most likely going to be amazingly epic. (Nov. 20)

The Hateful 8

Any Quentin Tarantino film is highly anticipated, but this one is a western - so it could turn out to be his best. The cast includes Bruce Dern, Channing Tatum, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walton Goggins and more, so we're in for quite the ride this year. (Expect a fall release)

SPECTRE

Will James Bond meet his nemesis, Blofeld, in this mysterious new Sam Mendes film? Rumors would suggest so, but we really have no information about the film, besides the telling title: the name of the villainous organization from older 007 films. Plus Christoph Waltz, Dave Bautista and Andrew Scott are set to play bad-guys ... so we're totally in! (late 2015)

Inside Out

This imaginative new Pixar film is set in the mind of an 11-year-old girl named Riley. Her emotions are the stars and the cast is incredibly promising. Amy Poehler (Joy), Bill Hader (Fear), Lewis Black (Anger), Mindy Kaling (Disgust) and Phyllis Smith (Sadness) all provide voices for what's sure to be another instant classic animated film. (June 19)

Fifty Shades of Grey

There's no way this smutty romance novel's movie adaptation doesn't destroy the box office this year. (Feb. 14 ... Valentine's Day)

Furious 7

Though it isn't the final installment of the popular action series, it is the last time we'll see star Paul Walker on screen due to his unfortunate death in 2013. We're expecting quite the send off for the star in the 2015 chapter of the franchise, so this is definitely one to see in theaters. (April 3)
