Now that the series finale has passed on FX, this is the perfect opportunity to look back on the gut-wrenching final Season 7. Tension began to mount between Juice (Theo Rossi) and Gemma (Katey Sagal) as Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) searched relentlessly for Tara (Maggie Siff)'s killer in Sons of Anarchy.

In the series finale recap, Jax stepped down as president of the motorcycle club, handing over the throne to Chibs (Tommy Flanagan) and Tig (Kim Coates). Jax's kids were going to be safe, as long as they were far away from their father. For the deaths of their former sheriff and the matriarch of the club, Jax rode straight to his death as he was being chased by the entire Charming police force.

Here are our 5 thoughts on the final season of Sons of Anarchy:

5) What A Piece Of Work Is Man

Bobby Munson (Mark Boone Junior), the guy who's been there since the beginning, met a brutal and tortuous death at the hands of August Marks. This was the culmination of of Gemma's lies and Jax's downfall. Audiences were caught by surprise, expecting maybe someone else in the club to die first.

4) The Creepiest Kid Ever

How messed up was Abel this season? After Abel heard Gemma's confession, the little boy had to cut himself to make her go away. Maybe with Wendy (Drea De Matteo) and Nero (Jimmy Smits) raising him away from Charming is a good thing, but he was playing with the SAMCRO ring at the end.

3) The Game-Changer

Three major characters died at the end of Red Rose. In the suspenseful standoff, Wayne Unser (Dayton Callie) wasn't going to walk away, telling Jax he had nothing else left. Fans were divided between loving and hating Jax as he shot Unser and became a cop-killer.

2) The Perfect Ending?

You have to admit, it would've been pretty wrong if Jax got away scot-free after leaving a trail of dead bodies behind him. If he stayed alive, Jax would've kept looking over his shoulder nonstop with the IRA chasing after him. Maybe it was best for him and his kids that Jax rode his father's bike headfirst into the truck.

1) Somebody Give These Guys Their Emmy

Rossi and Hunnam delivered their best performance ever in my personal favorite and the best episode of the season perhaps, Suits of Woe. In the much-talked about scene, Jax reveals to Juice that Abel is suffering from his mother's death. With tears in his eyes, Juice had no choice but to reveal the truth. Hopefully, these two won't be ignored during

The series finale of Sons of Anarchy left a memorable mark with viewers. Readers, what did you think of the final season.
