The Walking Dead is a show quite comfortable with killing off its characters. The body count on the series has risen exponentially since Season 1, but it appears that one character who survived could make his way back into the Walking Dead world soon.

The IMDb page for The Walking Dead spinoff, codenamed Cobalt, shows that Juan Gabriel Pareja, who played Morales in four episodes of the series, is set to appear in the spinoff. Bear in mind that IMDb is not always the most reliable source and this could be just a rumor or an error, but it's worth noting.

Pareja played Morales for four episodes until he and his family separated from Rick Grimes and his crew to head for Alabama. We know that the spinoff will take place in Los Angeles, which is thousands of miles away from Alabama. But there's always the chance that Morales and his family took a different turn in the four seasons since he left the show.

Cinema Blend has a screenshot of the page here.

Deadline first exclusively reported that Kim Dickens would play the female lead in the series, which is currently codenamed "Cobalt." The site said the casting process was lengthy and AMC tested multiple actresses for the part.

The spinoff "revolves around a divorced teacher (Cliff Curtis) and a guidance counselor (Dickens), who are working together and are in a relationship. The counselor has two children from a previous marriage, played by Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey. She looks like the girl next door but has a darkness to her, a troubled past that will come back to haunt her," Deadline reports.

TVLine exclusively reported that the spinoff series would be set in Los Angeles. Reports had swirled for months that the series would feature a different part of the world than the Georgia area in which we have followed Rick Grimes and friends, and L.A. is certainly a departure from that.
