It doesn't look like there's room for two One Direction bands, and the British "X-Factor" megastars seem to have come out on top of the legal name-game battle. According to reports, One Direction and a California punk band by the same name have come to an amicable agreement - one in which the "What Makes You Beautiful" singers get to keep their infamous title while members of the American-based band change theirs.

The "original" punk rock band One Direction had initially sought to sue the British heartthrobs for $1 million - the Californians insisting that they came up with the band name back in 2009 (a year before "X-Factor" stars Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, and Louis Tomlinson had even met).

But a recent news release issued from London now states that the two bands have come to a friendly agreement - one where no fierce musical battle will have to take place or green bills have to be exchanged. The California-based group will be better known here on out as Uncharted Shores.

So no worries, One Direction enthusiast - the band keeping its name means that fans can still refer to themselves as "One Directioners," too.
