Niall Horan is NOT leaving One Direction!

On Sunday evening (December 28), internet hackers managed to freak-out several loyal One Directioners. Some popular (and usually reliable) gossip outlets were hacked on Twitter, including Sugarscape and Yahoo! Celebrity UK. One "shocking" tweet quickly circulated on the social networking site, proclaiming that "Niall has left One Direction!!"

Fans were devastated.

But no worries, just a hoax!

The webloids later provided these updates, to the relief of "Best Song Ever" enthusiasts:

@sugarscape: "So while we were fast asleep, it turns out some dickhead hacked our account. VERY sorry for any heart attacks caused."

 

@sugarscape: "Just to confirm, Niall is NOT leaving One Direction. We were hacked, innit. #reasonsniallleftonedirection."

@YahooCelebUK: "Morning everyone. Just so you know, Niall Horan isn't in fact leaving 1D, our account was hacked last night. We repeat, Niall isn't leaving."

@YahooCelebUK: "And it would seem that we weren't the only ones either. @sugarscape were also hacked. Sorry for any upset this has caused."

But it still happened - #ReasonsNiallLeftOneDirection began trending:
