Just ahead of its highly anticipated January return, Fox has released new clips of the Batman prequel, Gotham. As more DC Comics characters make their way onto the television screen, will Donal Logue (Harvey Bullock) and Oswald Coppleput (Lord Taylor) discover the rest of the Dark Knight's 'Rogues' Gallery?'

In our previous recap, Gordon (McKenzie) hired a lawyer, Harvey Dent (Nicholas D'Agosto), who was brave enough to take on Gotham's violent mob bosses. While Dent flips Two-Face's infamous coin, Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) has become infatuated with bad girl, Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova). Everybody will soon end up in the crossfire as Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett-Smith) intends on starting a turf war against her rivals.

In our winter finale recap, a shadowy figure sent in assassins to get rid of the Selina. While Alfred (Sean Pertwee) joined in on the search for Selina and Bruce, Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) discovered his gun was planted in a murder scene. Though the children were found safe and sound, Jim lost his detective's badge and was transferred to Arkham Asylum.

Released on the official YouTube account, we see the Penguin (Taylor) behind bars. Because Jim isn't there at the precinct, the Penguin doesn't have a friend who could help him out. Interestingly, the only person he does know is Detective Bullock (Logue) who wanted him dead the last time they saw each other.

In the second clip, David Zayas shows up as mob boss Salvatore Maroni, warning his right-hand man about hubris. Sal doesn't like it that the Penguin rose taxes on a simple fisherman, a struggling working-class member of society.

As we previously mentioned, executive producer Danny Cannon reveals the Penguin will take a big swing in the upcoming mob war storyline. Cannon explains, "It's much more about the way that he's trying to make the way things work, the hierarchy, collapse. So even though there are going to be some major roadblocks for Penguin, he's clear on his mission, which is to bring it all down."

Gotham is expected to return to Fox in January. Readers, are you excited to see the show back again after hiatus?
