Bob Denver has been declared dead since 2005, however his death has been trending on Twitter in the year 2012.  One can find "R.I.P. Bob Denver" throughout Twitter and Facebook on Tuesday September 4.  

One Facebook user who noticed the silly trend wrote, "People on FB are announcing the death of Bob Denver from Gilligan's Island, if you're interested in stuff that happened 7 years ago."

‏A Twitter user named @RachelFederoff tweeted, "LOL i just realized that post on Bob Denver was old. Well i still miss him!"

On positive note, this trend has led people to appreciate and remember the works of late Denver, especially his goofy role as Gilligan on the TV sitcom Gilligan's Island.
