While season 4 is currently on its winter break on CBS, this is the perfect opportunity to check up on Person of Interest. Let's take a look at Team Machine during these recent episodes starring Jim Caviezel (Reese), Sameen Shaw (Sarah Shahi), Michael Emerson (Finch) as they picked up new numbers in their new identities.

As we previously mentioned, The Machine was beaten by a much more powerful Artificial Intelligence, known as The Samaritan. To stay far away from Samaritan's growing radar, Finch (Emerson) and his group assumed normal lives to prevent themselves from getting caught. The stakes are even higher now as the Samaritan has become a bigger and deadlier threat.

Here are our 5 thoughts on episodes 7-10:

5) Did Root just get jealous?

In episode, Honor Among Thieves, smooth con man and thief, Tomas Koroa, was putting the moves on Shaw. Not only was Root (Amy Acker) listening in on their intimate conversation, she was trying to ruin the moment too. Something's going on with these two.

4) The Students Go After The Teacher

Samaritan's blonde-haired assassin, Martine, has an army of operatives at her disposal, which includes Devon (Nick Tarabay) and Brooks (Theodora Woolley), who were once Shaw's proteges. Will Devon and Brooks take down Shaw when the show returns?

3) The Devil You Know

The gang war between Elias (Enrico Colantoni) and Dominic (Winston Duke) escalated to a deadly standoff. After losing his childhood friend, Elias promised that if Reese and Finch got in his way, their alliance is over. How scary is it that Dominic know someone is behind the curtain, pulling the strings? What would happen if he got his hands on the Machine?

2) Martine vs. Shaw

In The Devil You Know, Martine discovered where Shaw was working. The two female assassins pulled their guns out in public and started shooting at each other. Not only was Shaw's cover blown, she didn't get that raise she wanted. I mean it when I say, Best shoot-out ever.

1) Death On The Horizon?

The Cold War ended in a cliffhanger, with Shaw missing while Samaritan infected the stock market with a virus. The last time POI had a trilogy, the team lost Joss Carter (Taraji P. Henson). Who will die in this trilogy?

Person of Interest returns Tuesday, January 6 on CBS at 10pm. Readers, are you excited to see the Machine go up against Samaritan?
