The popular South Korean multinational conglomerate company Samsung announced in a statement on Thursday that their newest smartphone device, the Galaxy S III, has experienced a product sale of over 20 million in just a short matter of 100 days.
Looks like Samsung's Galaxy S III, powered by an Android-based operating system - is the Apple IPhone's newest and biggest competitor.
According to Samsung, over 10 million Galaxy S III devices were sold in the first 50 days of the product's release alone. The updated version of the Samsung smartphone was well-received both critically and commercially - high-demand even resulted in a recent extensive product shortage in the U.S. The Galaxy S III was unveiled in London on May 3 on 3 May 2012, in London. Samsung released it in other major markets in June.
Europe has sold over Galaxy S III devices. 4.5 million have been sold in Asia, 4 million in North America, and 2.5 million in Korea.
Samsung's Galaxy S III is a touchscreen-based, slate-format Android smartphone. Additional software updates from the original two versions include: expanded hardware, a redesigned/slender physique, an intelligent personal assistant (S Voice), eye-tracking ability, increased storage, and a wireless charging option.
Although the Samsung Galaxy S III is currently involved in a high-profile lawsuit with the popular American multinational corporation Apple, Inc (for violating Apple patents), the device torrent sales pace is six times faster than the original Galaxy S and three times faster than the S II.
