Antonio Banderas is getting ready to start 2015 with a new girl. The Spanish actor has just stepped out with his new girlfriend, Nicole Kimpel, following his divorce from his wife of 18 years, Melanie Griffith. The pair announced that they were splitting earlier this year and it seems that both are ready to start 2015 focusing on themselves and other relationships.
According to E! News, Banderas and his new gal were spotted linking arms as they attended the Malaga Hoy newspaper award ceremony on Tuesday afternoon. The couple dressed to the nines for the Spanish media event, as Antonio donned a black suit with a white shirt and silver tie, while his new friend was photographed wearing a blue blouse with a black skirt.
Banderas opened up about his new relationship to The Olive Press where he mentioned that the couple is taking it slow and getting acquainted. "We are in the process of getting to know each other," the star explained. "She is shy and doesn't have anything to do with my work, which is no bad thing."
It seems like it is definitely a change from his relationship with former wife and actress Melanie Griffith.
And it seems like Mel is having a good time since calling it quits from her hubby, as she is going to spend 2015 focusing on herself. The 58-year-old actress told Indiewire, via Hello magazine, that this year is all about her.
"It's not about my career now," the star explained. "It's just about finding great work and having a good time. My kids are almost grown. I'm getting divorced."
We wish the two the best in 2015.
