She may be fancy, but Iggy Azalea has just been diagnosed with a pretty painful disease. The "Black Widow" rapper took to her Twitter account earlier this week to let fans know that she was suffering from what she called TMJ.
According to WEBMB, TMJ or TMD, also known as Temporomandibular Joint Disorder, happens when problems arise in your jaw and facial muscles. Common causes for this disorder can be grinding your teeth, arthritis in the joint, and even stress, which we are sure Iggy has been dealing with since this year has been a whirlwind for her.
Iggy broke the news on her Twitter account on December 31, letting her fans know what was happening.
"Last month I was diagnosed with TMJ which isn't the best," the star wrote, also addressing the fact that she thinks stress played a big role in her diagnosis. "I don't think western medicine all the way acknowledges what a huge toll mental stress takes on our bodies. But I do believe it is a factor."
While the disease can affect your muscle and jaw control, Iggy promises her fans that it won't interfere with her career, as she writes, "Anyhow I don't think it will ever prevent me from doing anything I want to but it has made me realize it's important to look after yourself"
However, despite the harsh news that the Aussie performer received, she is trying her best to remain positive in the New Year.
"I'm gonna make more of an effort to take care of myself in 2015, stay away from all the drama and hopefully not have any flair ups," she wrote on her Twitter page.
She also mentioned that fans should be excited because with the New Year, she will also be unveiling some new music.
"I'm back to work on my second album next week," Iggy tweeted earlier this week. "Anxious to get going on it. The excited kind of anxious."
