Host of the 2012 MTV VMAs Kevin Hart offered many quick little jabs at a number of celebrities during his opening act at the L.A.-based event on Thursday night, including the much-talked about "On the Road" star Kristen Stewart. Although none of Hart's remarks, including those aimed at Stewart's cheating scandal, were very harmful, a source at MTV claims that some execs weren't too happy with the mentioning of the VMA-absent "Twilight" star.

In his Stewart spiel, Hart exclaimed, "She'd allegedly messed around with a director [Rupert Sanders]. She did it, so what. Look on the bright side. Here's the thing. They are now a part of the seven dwarfs: Dopey, sleepy, adultery, cheating. If you made a mistake, so what!"

While the VMA audience took the comments in stride - offering up some giggles and applause - producers at MTV had wished that Hart would avoid the K-Stew-R-Patz drama-filled topic altogether.

One source told Hollywood Life, "MTV producers were at first mad that [Kevin] brought up Kristen Stewart and the incident, but it wasn't a major issue with them because he didn't harp on it and make it his material for the entire night."

Anything can happen at a live show, especially when it involves the crazy guests who are known to attend such MTV events. So once execs got over the initial shock of Hart's rant, things started to cool down behind the scenes. Stewart's not being there helped just a tad:

"They're OK with things mostly because Kristen wasn't there," continued the source. "And the Twilight gang hadn't fully shown up by the time he mentioned things."
