Following that possible cheating scandal with famed chef Giada de Laurentiis, it looks like John Mayer very well could be getting back to doing what he's known for doing ... making some music! The former beau of Katy Perry recently posted the below photo to Instagram, making us all think he could be hinting at a new album. The musician's last record was 2013's Paradise Valley, which held singles such as "Wildfire" and "Who You Love" –– the latter of which he did with former girlfriend Perry.

"Back to work then. Taking these found-in-the-desert songs to tape.... Happy New Year all," Mayer captioned a photo of himself outside what looks to be the studio building.

In regards to the "found-in-the-desert" comment, Mayer recently took a trip to Joshua Tree, where his iPhone was "tripping balls" ... mainly because of a glitch. Of course, who knows what the guitarist was tripping on in order for him to come up with some new music.

Judging from the near 86,000 likes the photo has attained, it's pretty safe to say that fans would be ever so thrilled if a new John Mayer album were to drop.
