Blake Lively and hubby Ryan Reynolds pulled a fast one on fans over the weekend, with reports confirming that the duo secretly tied the knot in a small, private ceremony in South Carolina on Sunday. According to E! Online, the ceremony was made up of only about 60 guests and the reception included a musical performance by Florence + the Machine.
The wedding between the 25-year-old "Gossip Girl" and her 35-year-old beau took place under a white tent at the Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. on Sunday evening. Only a small group of close friends attended, including a very small number of Hollywood acquaintances including Bette Midler (who also sang at the ceremony).
Rumors of a Lively-Reynolds holy union were tipped off by the Charleston-based radio station 95.1 FM, which tweeted:
@95sxCharleston: "Hold up, there's another story that it's Ryan Reynolds and he married Blake Lively at the Cotton Docks today!"
According to station representative Kelly Gukanovich, "I am being told there were around 60 people at the event and that a local restaurant may have catered it. Ryan has always loved it here and when he got together with Blake, he started to bring her here, too."
The two celebrities, who co-star in the hit film "The Green Lantern," made their relationship public less than a year ago. Lively had just gotten out of a pretty serious relationship with Hollywood heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio, and Reynolds had just finalized his divorce from now ex-wife Scarlett Johansson. The couple recently purchased a $2 million cottage together in Bedford, New York back in June.
Congrats to the happy couple!
