To all concerned fans - if you read a bizarre account of a sudden celebrity death on the prank news site, Global Associated News, don't believe a word of it. Better yet, don't hit up Twitter expressing your sorrow and dismay upon reading such terrible news because chances of the account being totally fabricated are highly likely. Take, for example, the news that actor Adam Sandler passed away this weekend after a freak snowboarding accident. Not only is that Global Associated report untrue, but the same exact "freak accident" has apparently happened to a number of other big-name celebrities - all of who are still alive and well to this day.
Check out the fake Global Associated report on Sandler (the bogus website updates its headline daily so it appears that the "death" took place to-the-today):
"Actor Adam Sandler is reported to have died shortly after a snowboard accident earlier today - September 10, 2012.
The actor & novice snowboarder was vacationing at the Zermatt ski resort in Zermatt, Switzerland with family and friends. Witnesses indicate that Adam Sandler lost control of his snowboard and struck a tree at a high rate of speed.
Adam Sandler was air lifted by ski patrol teams to a local hospital, however, it is believed that the actor died instantly from the impact of the crash. The actor was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and drugs and alcohol do not appear to have played any part in his death."
This report is utterly false, Sandler is currently filming the follow-up film to "Grown Ups."
If one were to take the time and actually scan through the Global Associated site, the fact that all celebrity death reports are completely fabricated would be obvious. Maybe fans will learn to check the facts before going into panic mode from here on out.
Check out some Global Associated News "celebrity death" press releases:
David Guetta - flipped his car while driving 95 mph in a 55 mph zone, pronounced dead at scene and identified through photo ID.
Eddie Murphy - same snowboarding incident which resulted in Sandler's demise - "novice snowboarder" struck a tree at high speeds at popular Switzerland ski resort.
Tiger Woods - famed golfer found unresponsive in his luxury vacation rental house in the Dominican Republic, later pronounced dead from natural causes.
Usher - same report as Guetta car crash - died instantly after losing control of a friend's vehicle while driving on Interstate 80.
Mick Hucknall - while vacationing in Turks and Caicos, the musician died as a result of injuries sustained in a horrible Jet-Ski accident.
Brad Pitt - yup, apparently the beginner snowboarder pushed his limits at the famous Zermatt Ski Resort, similar to Sandler's case.
Eli Manning - the famous Giants football star was found unresponsive in a Cadillac Escalade "early this morning" at a New York highway rest area.
George Clooney - plummeted from a cliff over 60-feet to his death while filming a movie in New Zealand early this morning.
Vanilla Ice - same fatal car crash fate as Guetta and Usher. Alcohol and drugs were not involved.
Sandra Bullock - fell to her death at the same location as Clooney at approximately 4:30 a.m.
Rebecca Black - Youtube sensation is currently hospitalized in serious condition after a crazed fan confronted her in a violent altercation which left the young singer unconscious in Mexico.
You get the idea...
