'American Horror Story's Jessica Lange: Awards Shows Have Become Freak Shows- Emmy Winner Scores An AHS Action Figure [VIDEO]

American Horror Story : Freak Show star Jessica Lange thinks awards shows are the real freak shows... and has revealed that now she has action figure, she can also scare people on the street! The Emmy-award winning Lange - who is also up for a Golden Globe next week for her role as Fiona Goode in the show's third season - also revealed that she's not much into fashion and had to call her son to tell him that she'd won her latest Emmy!

But it turns out Lange isn't much of a fan of award ceremonies - even though she's won two Oscars (for Tootsie in 1983, and Blue Sky in 1994), as she revealed on Late Night with Seth Meyers. "No, y'know, it's become a bit of a... talk about a freak show," the actress laughed.

"It's become a bit of a freak show. A lot of its about fashion, which doesn't interest me at all... When you're recognized for your work of course it's great, you feel somehow reinforced, but the lead up to it and then y'know... then you give actors the platform to speak about themselves which is a huge mistake," she chuckled.

Her MO is easy: "I keep it simple," she revealed. "It's all about thanking the people that I've worked with and I never thank god or my mother or tell my children to go to bed... or talk about life lessons, or the hero of my own life. There are certain things I deliberately avoid because I find them incredibly pretentious."

She hastily added, "I'm not referring to anybody that you know."

As for winning her 2014 Emmy for her portrayal of Fiona Goode in the third season American Horror Story, "I had to tell my son a week later that I'd won an Emmy," she laughed.

"He said 'Where've you been?' and I said 'I had to go to LA," and he said, "what for?" I said, y'know, it was the Emmys..." there was thing long pause and I said 'You know... I won'."

While The New York Times reported that Lange has "said this season, the fourth, is her last," they add that "her producers seem determined to squeeze out every last drop of diva excess."

Lange also has her very first action figure... Something she's still getting used to. "That's just insane..." she laughed to Meyers. "Yeah, I don't think there was a Frances Farmer action figure or a Blanche DuBois action figure. No, I hadn't heard that. That's kind of nuts."

Not only does Lange have an action figure, but she added that can scare young kids on the street! "I was walking down the street and I passed this group of young boys and I heard them say, 'Holy s--tballs, it's the Supreme!'" Lange told Seth Meyers. "And I thought, 'That's the greatest!'"
