Many celeb pals of the late Michael Clarke Duncan came to celebrate the life and mourn the passing of the 54-year-old actor at his funeral services at L.A.'s Forest Lawn Memorial-Park and Mortuaries on Monday, Sept. 10. Among the star-studded crowd were Tom Hanks, Jay Leno, Holly Robinson Peete, Loretta Devine, Stevie Wonder (via video), and fiancée Rev. Omarosa O. Manigault. Many of the celebs shared heartfelt memories during the four hour long service.

The star of "Green Mile" died on Sept. 3, never having fully recovered from a heart attack he experienced back in July.

Wonder played the piano along to his hit song "As," dedicating the tune to the man he liked to refer to as a "gentle giant."

Leno touched upon his reverence for Duncan's always-positive attitude, stating, "Just to see such a pure heart and pure kindness, and to see it taken so early. There are no sadder words than what might have been."

In a letter written by "Green Mile" creator Stephen King and read by film director Frank Darabont, the author states, "No one has ever done a character I wrote more justice."

Hank good-naturedly cracked jokes about Duncan's "girly" handwriting, how it's "loopy and huge." He also went on to describe a story Duncan once told him of his childhood living in the South Side of Chicago. When Duncan told his mother he was considering joining a gang, she promptly hit him over the head with a sizzling frying pan. According to Hank, "If it wasn't for that mama and the frying pan with a pork chop, we would not be here today celebrating the life of Michael Clarke Duncan."

State Assemblyman Mike Davis and L.A. City Council President Herb Wesson also attended the privately-held funeral, granting Monday as "Michael Clarke Duncan Day."

The Rev. Dr. H. Beecher Hicks delivered the eulogy, and in his closing sympathetically turned to Manigault and said, "Don't fret, he's in heaven."
