After making its grand entrance at the New York Comic Con, Marvel has now announced the release date for the highly anticipated Netflix superhero series, Marvel's Daredevil. As he puts on his trademark red costume, will audiences see Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) question who the "bad guy" really is in April?

As we previously mentioned, Matt Murdock (Cox) was a young boy when he was struck blind after a near fatal car accident. Though everyone thinks he lives in complete darkness, radioactive chemicals gave him back his sight. By day, Murdock pretends to be the blind lawyer attending courtroom battles. But when darkness falls, Daredevil serves out his own brand of justice protecting Hell's Kitchen from crime.

According to USA Today, Netflix's Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos revealed his plans for the upcoming new year. Not only will there be new seasons of House of Cards (Feb. 27), The Fall (Jan. 16), and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (March 6), the five planned comic book series, which includes Marvel's Luke Cage and AKA Jessica Jones, will be released about a year apart. We previously mentioned Mike Colter (Zero Dark Thirty) and Krysten Ritter (Breaking Bad) have been cast as the leads.

Showrunner Steven S. DeKnight, who previously gave a Twitter Q&A to fans, states, "People shouldn't come to this expecting me to deliver the Spartacus of Marvel. We're able to explore morally gray areas, where you're rooting for the bad guy and questioning the good guy, which is more difficult on network TV."

Originally scheduled for May 2015, Marvel also announced the premiere date with a new motion poster. The footage shows Hell's Kitchen under fire, with the flames forming the hero's calling card, his trademark initials, DD.
