The CW Renews 8 Shows: DId 'The Vampire Diaries,' 'Arrow,' 'The Flash,' 'Jane The Virgin' 'Supernatural' Make The Cut Or Did They Get Cancelled?

The 2014-2015 TV season is only halfway over but The CW is looking ahead to the future as the primetime network has just revealed what shows will and won't make it to the air when the fall 2015 TV season comes rolling around. With there lineup of shows like Arrow, The Vampire Diaries, Jane the Virgin, and The Flash, the network has a rooster of hits and they have decided not to switch much up for the 2015-2016 season.

According to E! News, the network has picked up eight of their series from the Fall TV season including Arrow, Jane the Virgin, Reign, Supernatural, The 100, The Flash, The Originals, and The Vampire Diaries.

In a statement posted by The Hollywood Reporter, Mark Pedowitz, president of The CW, explained that this early pickup would help the creative team behind the shows figure out where to go next with their series.

"Each of these series have helped define what The CW is today, a network that is home to smart, provocative, quality programming, targeting a savvy adult audience," Pedowitz explained. "By picking up these shows now, our executive producers can start planning next season's storylines, and rolling these shows out throughout next season guarantees The CW will have more proven original series four our fall, midseason and summer 2016 lineups."

According to the news site the network has improved in ratings over the season, as they have seen a 14 percent rise in total viewers over all their shows.

Here's to a lot more quality TV shows in 2016.
