Rumors that the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton may be pregnant with Prince William's baby have spread like wildfire this past week. While some pregnancy claims actually seem legit (like the fact that Middleton has been spotted toasting with water instead of wine at recent royal events), other gossip tabloids seem to be pushing the baby rumors a tad bit too far. Take, for example, Star magazine, where a small cover image of Middleton's backside apparently shows signs of an "expanding waistline." The "weight gain" claims have infuriated pop star Demi Lovato, who quickly jumped to Middleton's defense. The "Give your Heart a Break" songstress took to Twitter, denouncing the media for influencing such "negative body and self-esteem" images among today's youth.

Check out an image of the Star magazine cover in-question, tweeted by 20-year-old Lovato late Wednesday/early Thursday:

In the photo, it looks like Middleton's fashionable belt is loosened just a few notches in the back. This obviously proves that she's gained weight and is therefore pregnant. Wait, what?

Along with the photo Lovato tweeted:

@ddlovato: "So apparently Kate Middleton (William?) is pregnant because of THIS picture... Are you KIDDING ME?!!" She then added, "And people wonder why girls/guys have body image issues... Whether she is or not, she still has a beautiful body. Shame on you Star magazine."

The Star headline reads, "It's Official! Kate's pregnant." The gossip mag insists that the photo of Middleton reveals that the Duchess is indeed "already gaining 'mommy' weight" because of her apparent "expanding waistline".

Lovato went to rehab back in 2010 in order to treat an eating disorder, so it's no wonder Star's impulsive claims (based just on Middleton's supposed "weight gain") angered the "X-Factor" star.

If Middleton were truly pregnant, surely the Royal Court would make a public announcement sometime soon. No need to embellish such big assumptions based solely on a wardrobe accessory.
