'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting News: Emma Watson Wants Steele if Ryan Gosling Snags Christian Grey

Emma Watson is just one starlet name being thrown around to snag the coveted role of Anastasia Steele in the highly-anticipated movie adaptation of E.L James' erotica novel "Fifty Shades of Grey." While the 22-year-old has thanked fans for the honorable recognition and has confirmed that she would definitely consider taking on the steamy role if offered the chance, rumors have it that the "Harry Potter" star would be even more incline to do so if Hollywood heartthrob Ryan Gosling played opposite as Steele's kinky  love interest, Christian Grey.

While Watson talked "Fifty Shades of Grey" casting rumors in a recent interview with STV.TV, claiming she would "certainly want" to be considered for Steele's character, close friend and "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" co-star Nina Dobrev went so far as to say this weekend that Watson would allegedly be "far more interested if Ryan Gosling were to be cast as Christian Grey."

Popular television host Ryan Seacrest confirmed Dobrev's insinuations with a tweet on Monday, stating:

@RyanSeacrest: "@EmWatson told me she'd be far more interested in playing Anastasia in 50 Shades of Grey if Ryan Gosling plays Christian. #mugglelove."

While Watson admitted over the summer to not having read the "Fifty Shades" trilogy, it looks like she's now putting in some serious effort to connect with Steele's character. Dobrev claims that Watson has finally delved into the novels, and the Hermione Granger actress is actually pretty nervous about what she reads:

"She's laughing, a bit nervously, as I'm sure everyone was when they first read those books," Dobrev humorously said during an interview with Seacrest in promotion of "The Perks of Being a Wallflower. "But she'd want to do it if Ryan [Gosling] was going to be Christian. I guess that's all it takes."

In "Fifty Shades of Grey," Steele is a rather shy and ordinary-looking young woman who finds herself drawn to the wealthy and mysterious (not to mention sexy) Christian Grey. The two are utterly attracted to one another and quickly delve into a deep dark world of intense sexual desire and intimate exploration.

Other big-names currently "up" for the role of Steele are: Alexis Bledel, Lucy Hale, Kristen Stewart, and Emelia Clarke.
