Stacy Keibler and George Clooney: Star Claims Breakup Rumors are Completely Bogus

Many fans were shocked and dismayed after the U.K. tabloid The Sun ran a report on Wednesday (Sept. 12) that claimed George Clooney and his gorgeous model girlfriend of two years Stacy Keibler were headed towards Splitsville. But Clooney's rep quickly stepped out to squash the breakup rumors in a statement made to E! News, lambasting newspapers for fabricating such hurtful stories in order to earn a few extra bucks. Keilber's recent appearance at New York City's Fashion Week also helped to qualm the gossip, as she stepped out looking as happy and stunning as ever in a hot pink, hip-hugging dress.

According to the story in The Sun, a gal pal of the 32-year-old actress/model said:  "[Keibler] said George wants to be on his own again and has no intention of getting married. Stacy hoped they would be together long-term. It was a big breakthrough to spend time with his parents. But over the last few weeks George has pulled away from her."

But 51-year-old Clooney's rep  Stan Rosenfield denies the rumors, stating, "A story published by a London tabloid, The Sun, concerning George Clooney and Stacy Keibler is not true. Total fabrication designed to sell newspapers."

Either Keibler has to recheck who her "true" friends are, or The Sun is really trying to pull for more readerships (in which case it may have worked, Stacy Keibler seems to be currently trending on the web).

Keibler was recently spotted at NYC's Fashion Week, sitting front row at the Marchesa fashion show at Lincoln Center amongst a number of A-listers including Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, and Tyra Banks. Flaunting a bright, floral-print, one-shoulder sleeved mini dress, Keibler was all smiles (not looking to be someone who just went through a tough breakup).

The couple actually seems to be doing very well - Keibler spent most of her summer with hubby Clooney at his lavish estate in Lake Como, Italy. Hopefully it remains true that the breakup rumors are totally bogus!
