Jerry Lawler Update: Girlfriend and Son By His Side, Says No Brain Damage and In Great Spirits

Jerry "The King" Lawler updates are coming in from his girlfriend, son, ex-wife, World Wresting Entertainment WWE colleague Michael Cole and friends.  Lawler's recovery from the frightening heart attack that caused him to collapse on the WWE stage is so far so good.  His brain scan showed no significant damage, according to a report that Lawler's son with ex-wife Stacy Carter a Fox affiliate reporter Tealy Devereaux that "his dad is awake and alert. Brain scan just came back normal following heart attack Monday."

Carter also tweeted a similar message on her Twitter page @stacycarterkat, "The rumors are true. I just got confirmation that @jerrylawler test results are in & he has NO brain damage. This is wonderful news!!!!!"

The WWR website posted an update on Wednesday morning that stated, "His vital signs continue to be stable.  He is awake, recognizes family members and is communicating with them."

The video of Lawler collapsing during a taping for WWE was posted on Youtube and became viral.  Michael Cole said into a microphone as the audience was stunned by the sudden fall, "This is not part of tonight's entertainment.  This is a real-life situation."

When 62-year-old Lawler arrived at the hospital, his son said he was shocked seven times to help unclog a clogged artery, and had a stint and balloon put in.  

Now that Lawler is able to breathe on his own and finally talk to family and friends, fans are relieved.  Thousands of messages poured throughout the internet giving him well wishes.

Lawler's friend Michael Cole tweeted, "#wweuniverse you will never believe this! I just got off the phone with #jerrylawler and he is alert and in great spirits!"

"#jerrylawler sends his love to you all and thanks you for all the support! He says the strap will be coming down soon!"
