Is ABC about to pull the plug on one of its fan-favorite shows? It might seem that way for Nashville fans. The Wednesday night musical drama about life in the big city might not be pulling in the numbers that the network has been hoping in terms of ratings, but does that mean that this season is going to be the last? The Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere helmed drama has been a hit with fans and amongst DVR viewers, and it looks like that might just be enough to save it from the TV graveyard.

According to Entertainment Weekly, ABC boss Paul Lee attended the 2015 TCA winter panel where he spoke out about the future of some of ABC's series including Nashville.

"We're loving Nashville," Lee stated. "We're going to have some great announcements about people who are going to appear on Nashville. That is such a beloved brand around the world and it's a great brand for us, so we love that show."

We can't wait to see who the series is going to bring on board to guest star. They have already had some of the biggest names in country music including Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, and Luke Bryan make some cameo appearances, so we can only imagine who is next.

As for what else is to come on this season of Nashville, show runner Dee Johnson spoke to TVLine where she teased that the fallout of the Luke and Rayna wedding and Deacon's illness will be two of the main storylines to play out when the season starts back up.

"We basically have a fairly immediate pick-up in the episode that follows when we come back from winter break," Johnson explains. Mentioning that fans are going to see what both Rayna and Luke do in the situations they've found themselves in now that they haven't gotten married. "We're going to be right in the immediacy of what one does in this situation," Dee explained.

As for Deacon, who wants to keep his illness a secret from everyone, it doesn't seem like that will be happening.

"It's pretty hard to keep it a secret for too long ... Let's just say," Johnson explains, "He can't keep that genie in a bottle for too long."

New episodes of Nashville will return Feb. 4.
