'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting News: Justin Bieber 'Jokes' About Role, Sparks Fan Outcry

Of all the rumors surrounding which male celebrity will snag the coveted role of Christian Grey in the highly-anticipated erotica novel-turned-movie "Fifty Shades of Grey," Justin Bieber is a rather unlikely candidate. Not only is the pop megastar a tad bit too young, he doesn't seem to fit the description of Grey all too well. Still, that doesn't keep some fans from jumping on the "Biebs should star in 'Fifty Shades of Grey'" bandwagon, especially after the 18-year-old "Believe" star made a "joke" about producers wanting him to actually be in the film. Well, at least it seemed like a joke...

During an interview on the British television show "The Jonathan Ross Show," Bieber exclaimed (without the slightest hint of humor in his voice), "Yeah, they actually want me to be in the ['Fifty Shades of Grey'] movie."

Fans in the crowd went wild as Bieber put on a slick smile and waved his hands around as if to suggest, "Just kidding, just kidding." But too late, Twitter is already blowing up with posts that insist Bieber has been offered a role in "Fifty Shades of Grey."
