Taylor Swift's new hit tune "Shake It Off" is beyond catchy... just ask "fierce" Dover, Delaware police officer Jeff Davis!

Reports initially suggested that the cop was actually on-duty when "caught in the act" of busting-out the poppy Swift tune. But according to the infamous gossip webloid TMZ, the entire thing was staged. Boo. Still, fans can't stop talking about it:

michaelterry: "This cop will NEVER be able to live this down. If I got a ticket from this guy I would start singing this song so the whole street could hear me."

Evan Vittoriano: "At first I was like, 'Ah, cool. Rock it. Guy's having a good time.' Then the poker face... I spit half chewed chips all over my laptop, half of which went up the back end of my nose. But I can't stop laughing, so naturally I aspirate whatever's left in there and now I'm choking, I can't see, I have chips in my nasal passages."

timobas: "they really are improving the sound quality in those new police car stereos..."

shelly Jewell: "when is he going to be on Ellen?!"

Lilybelly Designs: "You are awesome. Love it!!!! This made my day. Keep it up. Cops are human, like everyone one else."

The fake dash cam footage went viral over the weekend, and has since garnered more than 15 MILLION views and counting wow. Now that's a legit 15-minutes of fame!

Officers apparently wanted to celebrate the successful launch of the station's official Facebook page. Hey, it worked.

According to Dover PD spokesman Mark Hoffman:

"We decided we would share some with you in a new Web series called 'DashCam Confessionals.' We hope you enjoy this...and Taylor Swift, if you're watching...we're sorry... This was done in fun."

And Swift even got in on the sassy fun!
